| BECOME
A PERFORMER
You should only include a video (that will play
on a North American machine) if visuals are
an important part of what you, i.e., dance oriented
performances, physical theatre and theatre groups,
etc. Otherwise, indicate whether there is a
video available, upon request. Make sure your
current contact information appears all over
your kit, including your e-mail address. Your
materials will be kept in the festival's files
for two years, and do not need to be re-sent
in future years. Nothing you send to us will
be returned, as we simply don't have the resources
to do so.
The festival can't cover most national and international
travel costs. Therefore, for performers based
outside BC and Alberta who are interested in
performing at the festival, the festival suggests
planning a tour which includes several bookings,
or get travel support from another source, such
as your government. In some cases, the festival
can contribute towards travel costs. Due to
the overwhelming volume of applicants, having
travel support does not guarantee you a spot
in the programming.
INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS - When mailing
an application from outside Canada, please print
"NCV" (No Commercial Value) on your
Customs Form to avoid charges to the festival
upon receipt. The festival cannot accept applications
that cost money to receive.
The deadline for applying to be part of the
professional programming is February 15,
though early application is recommended. Booking
is normally completed by the end of March. If
you haven't heard from the festival by then,
you can assume that the Artistic Producer was
not able to include you in this year's line-up.
